About us:

The Centre for Slavic Cultures of the University of Granada is a non profit institution founded in 2015. Its mission is to promote intercultural dialogue and education, focusing on the teaching and study of Slavic and Caucasian languages.

Our centre's main purpose is to promote the study of the languages of Eastern European countries in Spain. We believe it is essential to spread awareness about the variety of cultural expressions, traditions and history of Russia and the Slavic community. We organise book presentations and talks led by experts on literature, current affairs, translation... Cultural dialogue is one of our key values, and we welcome a wide range of perspectives.

Moreover, we have language exchanges with native Russian speakers living in Granada to keep in touch with their language and culture. Spanish speakers who wish to test their knowledge of Russian or who are interested in learning this language are also welcome to join us.

The development of individual skills and the strengthening of institutional links to promote the study of Slavic languages and cultures are of great value to us. We are open to collaborations between the University of Granada and higher education institutions whose main languages include Russian. You can find further information on how to join our team and how you can apply for grants and internship programmes here.
